Mission Motorsport. The charity that fuels our adventures
In 2006 Chris Short was given medical discharge from The Royal Marines. Having served for 8 years and recovered from his physical injuries he has rebuilt his life and is now CEO of his own security company, currently based in Afghanistan.
Mission Motorsport is the Forces motorsport charity. Set up in 2011, its mission is to aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military operations by providing opportunities through Motorsport.
Mission Motorsport is run by veterans, serving officers and motorsport professionals. Appointed as the Combined Services’ official providers of adaptive motorsport, seeking wherever possible to merge the activities of the disabled and those in need with able bodied servicemen and women.
Appointed by the British Army Motorsport Association, and operating in direct support of the Defence Recovery Capability, Mission Motorsport provides respite, rehabilitation, vocational support and training to those affected by military operations within the framework of Motorsport.
Their primary audience are the servicemen and women coming through DMRC Headley Court and Recovery Centres such as Tedworth House, and those who are brought to us by Battle Back – the UK Military initiative that uses Adaptive Adventure Training and Sports Rehabilitation to help seriously wounded, injured or sick Service Personnel and Veterans.
